March 13th, 2018Counselors provide trauma-focused, evidence-based therapy to children and their families.
Interns participate in clinical trainings and in individual, and group supervision by a licensed clinician. Counseling practicum students are required to commit to an entire semester of at least ¾ time schedule. Counseling interns are require to commit to a 9-month to one year commitment beginning in September and ending in April or May.
Internship Requirements
- All students will have an in-person interview.
- Students must pass criminal and CPS background checks.
- Students are required to participate in one hour per week of individual supervision with their assigned supervisor.
- Students must be willing and able to see adults and children of all ages in individual, family and group treatment.
- Students are required to a DCAC orientation during their internship.
- Students must have their own liability insurance, either through their University or purchased independently.
